The Power of Faith

Oct 31, 2011   12:32 PM

We all heard the word faith. But, what does it really mean? There are many versions of what faith means. Perhaps the best one I ever heard is “faith is believing in what we do not see today; the reward of faith is one day we will see what we believe.” Believing in what we do not see today is really the toughest part for many of us. It is because, most of us do not believe even in what we see right now.

History of mankind had proven time and again that for a person of faith who nurtures it ardently, there is no defeat or failure on earth, despite the fact that such a person may face innumerable difficulties and obstacles in nurturing his/her faith on a constant basis. For instance, Satya Harichandra had immense faith in Truth. Although he lost his kingdom and got separated from his family members, he ardently nurtured his faith without wavering even for a second. And, he won at the end. That is why we refer to Satya Harichandra as a benchmark for Truth even today, several thousands ...more

Sep 27, 2011   11:56 AM

Life is a great cycle of transformation of Energy. Every element on this universe is a Energy. It is only the game of knowing the true potential of human to absorb those energies. Every human is efficient and sufficient on this world to absorb the enormous amount of Cosmic Energy available in this Free stable state of environment. Let me start with a small example..,

During the years of Napoléon Bonaparte, the warriors were easily able to lift a sword of 7 kg and wear the armors of 35 kg's, fighting and struggling for their land. Those wars are the reference of the power of human.

Where is the power and stamina in this era of world? If we think peacefully we find that people are getting physically weaker and mentally stronger. But when we talk of Spirituality, it deals with the balanced state of mind and body. It can be said that if you have a good vehicle and a skillful driver then you can win the race. The same way to touch and feel the benefits of Spirituality it is necessar ...more

DEATH AND AFTERLIFE

Apr 26, 2011   12:15 PM

"Jatasya hi dhruvo mrityur, dhruvam janma mritasya cha"
("Death is certain for one who is born, and birth is also certain for one who is dead. ) Bhagavad Gita.II.27

In Hinduism, death is not the end of life. It is an event in one's life. Just as marriage, parenthood, retirement etc. are events in one's life, death is also another, but more radically transformative, event in one's life. In the Bhagavad Gita, it is more aptly described as a "stage" of life . Sri Krishna says: "dehinosmin yaha dehe, kaumaram yauvanam jara, tatha dehantarapraptir dhiras tatra na muhyati" "Just as childhood, adulthood and old age happen to this body, so also the embodied person acquires another body, and the sage is not deluded by these events". And Sri Krishna continues: vasamsi jirnani yatha vihaya, navani grhnati naroparani, tatha sarirani vihaya jirnany, anyani samyati navani dehi" "Just as we cast away worn out garments and wear new ones, so also after cas ...more
