Kumar, 40, was a resident of Malad in Mumbai . He was accused of carrying jihadist literature in his luggage at the Houston International Airport. If convicted he can get a jail of up to 10 years.
The judge denied the bond and the immigration hearing was held on schedule. Kumar has been asked to leave within 90 days.
But basically his departure depends on the hearing of criminal case on September 8.
He cannot leave until the case is dismissed. If his case is solved within a period of four months, he can leave and ask to return .
