Born in 1976 in San Francisco, California, Kirti is the daughter of Hasmukh and Chandan Shyamji of Segva. Kirti spent much of her young adult life in Nashville, TN. There she attended school and graduated with honors from Belmont University with a degree in nursing.
After working as a Registered Nurse for two years, Kirti married Vikash Surati in May of 2000. This is when Kirti was first introduced to the hotel industry. Kirti had the opportunity to be directly involved with hotel development when her family built their Hampton Inn & Suites in Toledo, Ohio. Shadowing her husband from the first stages of construction all the way through hotel opening, Kirti gained a keen interest in the business. Today, along with being General Manager of the multi-award winning hotel, Kirti helps her husband and family with their other properties and future hotel developments.
Kirti is a Lifetime Member of AAHOA. She has previously served as Ambassador for the North Central Region and currently serves on the Women’s Committee. In 2011, she was awarded with the AAHOA Woman Hotelier of the Year Award. Along with her role in AAHOA, Kirti actively serves on several committees in the Leuva Patidar Samaj. For her exceptional service and dedication, LPS honored Kirti with the 2011 Appreciation Award. Kirti also devotes her time to the local Samaj by choreographing dances for young girls and middle-aged women. Kirti currently resides in Toledo, Ohio with her husband, Vikash and two children, Yadev and Aniya.
When asked about her life, Kirti says, “My devotion to family, business, and Samaj is what drives and completes me.” A quote that she lives by is, “Never tell me the sky’s the limit when there are footprints on the moon.”
