Almost 1.17 lakh books have been donated for the underprivileged children. “The Aviva Great Wall of Education” has come up with a drive that will help in the educating and supporting the children who cannot afford books for themselves.
Playwright ‘Crazy' Mohan said “It is nice to be a bookworm, but don't leave your books for the worms,” he said. “It's not possible to go and teach every child, but this is something we all can do,” he added.
People of all age helped in building the wall of books. Some donated their Benton comics while others gave books on mythology and adventure. Most of the student came up with 300 to 400 books. The Wall Of education is getting enriched day by day.
University of Madras donates 75,000 books this was the highlight of the day .Vice –Chancellor G.Thiruvasagam said, “The state of the ten million children in the country who have no access to basic amenities can be changed only by providing them education, and the supplementary material that would refine their growth,” he added.
