Hindi lovers have a lot to look forward with opening of Hindi Lovers Club, in Chicago. Brainchild of Gurbachan Kaur Shewakramani and Usha Kamaria, club got the new meaning as Hindi fans thronged Northshore Banquet, at Devon Ave to attain its inaugural on January 18.
Speaking on this occasion Kamaria said that India has a vibrant culture and this inauguration truly reflects that. Opening of club for Hindi lovers is a continuation of our effort to promote Indian art and culture in USA and encourage greater cultural between older and new generation.
Hindi Lover's Club, is the first club of its kind for American Indian and will showcase the true potential and versatility of age-old language, said, Kamal Gupta, President of Chicago Chapter of World Hindi Organization. He further informed that government allotted 12 million dollars to introduce Hindi in schools and colleges in Chicago.
Nand Kapoor, Vice Presidentof Association of Indians in America said that the club is a part of Indian culture and is part of Indian identity in Chicago. This club has created history in itself, he added.
"Hindi is one of the ancient and richest languages of the world. The purpose of forming this club is that Indian- American youth are getting detached with Indian culture and language and this club provide platform to all," said Gurbachan.
The ceremony started with the lightening of lamp by Muktta Tomar Dutta,Consul General of India and was followed by ribbon cutting.
