The board will be provided with more powers in regard to creating posts, amending rules within the framework of memorandum of association and rules, power of acquiring and disposing property.The body will have more authority in managing funds generated by the IIMs and power to approve their own budget.
The board of governors and directors has decided to prepare annual plans and measure performance at each level to ensure greater accountability and transparency.
Mr Sibal declined the suggestion of Bhargava committee on long term membership based on monetary policies.
