Manipuri 7th Film Festival commenced on 11 September and will continue till 20th. The event was inaugurated by Gurbachan Jagat, Manipur Governor .
Till the sixth Manipur State Film festival all the entries were in celluloid version, but there is a shift this time , video film is also allowed .
'Khangdreda Nongdamba', 'Tayai', 'Poukhum', 'Novab', 'Bomb Blast', 'Naoshum', 'Kaboklei', 'Ingao Ngouna', 'Basanta-gi Nonganlamdaida', 'Mami Sami', 'Chumthang Makhong', 'Hayengna Kanna-ga Pagani' and 'Ningthem'. are among the selected films . ‘Yenning Amadi likla ’is the only celluloid feature digital film. Out of the 77 feature films 13 video films were chosen.
For the critic and book award, a set of 15 non-feature digital films and one celluloid film have been suggested.
The event witnessed a wide discussion on various film related topics including script, music, screenplay with different film personalities and experts. Filmmaker Aribam and Shyam Sharma were also present to grace the occasion.
