Though an appeal was made by him to the Maoists on Saturday after an all part meet. He thanked the political group for unity and consensus after the eight day crisis.
"There was no deal with the Maoists for the release of the policemen. The three abducted policemen have been released. It's a relief that the three have been safely released but it is sad that one abducted policemen has been killed," Kumar said on Monday while addressing a press conference in Patna.
Nitish supported the idea of the Maoists joining the political ally of the country thereby removing violence. Nitish appealed the Maoists to join the mainstream by contesting the forthcoming assembly elections in Bihar.
