RCom is trading a bit lower than its previous close the rest 30 scrip in the Sensex were in green.
The main banking stocks such as SBI, HDFC and ICICI were among the top gainers.
S & amp CNX Nifty closed 2.13 per cent higher at 5,760 at the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
The BSE midcap closed 0.77 percent up and the BSE smallcap index 0.22 percent higher.
Medium size scrip could not keep pace with the index but stayed too close in the positive.
The top gainers in stocks were from banking, realty, energy and metal space. The 13 sectoral indices on the BSE were in positive.
